Sr. Accountant

To $75K  + Bonus

 

Responsible for accounting, reconciliation, G&A analysis, cash management, and various other tasks.

Reports to the Controller

Provides monthly accounting services for division and other specific assigned entities.

Prepares and submits accounting entries.

Prepares and analyzes portions of the consolidated statements including inter-company reconciliations and eliminations.

Assists in coordination of consolidation information from reporting unit controllers.

Position also includes keeping the various entities in synch with regards to investment, equity and debt and work with Tax and Treasury regarding compliance reporting.

Assists in preparation of monthly internal management reporting packages on results of operations, which includes variance analysis of consolidated results.

Performs various quarterly and year-end audit responsibilities.

Assists the regional reporting units with closing issues as necessary.

Provides assistance, open communication and feedback to teammates and superiors.

Provide oversight of day-to-day cash management functions, including cash application/accounts receivable maintenance, and development of long-term cash forecast for a high growth company having multiple subsidiaries and affiliates.

Provide recommendations on improving cash management processes and optimizing working capital.

Interface throughout company to resolve cash management issues.

Manage company’s electronic banking system that’s linked to company’s concentration bank.

Ensure proper controls and authorizations are in place for the processing of electronic funds transfers.

Coordinate banking requirements for establishing new accounts for corporate, regional and international offices.

Requires

Accounting/Finance degree.  A CPA is desired.

3 to 5 years of solid accounting experience.  Ideally would like some public accounting experience. Some experience with cash management or treasury is a plus.

Excellent spreadsheet modeling skills are required. 

Solid general ledger experience (2-3 years is preferable)

Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Assistant Controller

To $150K + Bonus

           
The Assistant Controller is the primary contact with each reporting organization of the consolidated group.  The position must set and insure that all internal control, financial/tax reporting and economic parameters are applied on a consistent, efficient and effective manner in accordance with established company policies.

 

·         Develop, implement and review all internal control policies and procedures for headquarters and each affiliate.

·        Reviews and enforces all Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures on a monthly basis.

·        Responsible for a designated component of the monthly internal reporting financial statement package.

·        Coordinates the quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) Securities and Exchange Reporting.

·        Keeps abreast of recent FAS, SEC and International Accounting Standards and pronouncements.

·        Participates in the preparation of Board and Audit Committee meeting presentations.

·        Oversees company cash management, foreign exchange and investment policies.

·        Evaluates all company risks such as currency, operational, investment, retentions, transference through insurance programs on casualty, liability and employee welfare.

·        Monitors foreign jurisdiction reporting and

·        Oversees information technology systems and establishes corporate standards including communications.

·        Recommends and is responsible for employee security (welfare and travel).

·        Stays abreast of international tax planning strategies.

·        Approves all administrative and financial invoices.

·        Will be a team member who will evaluate Economics for corporate activities such as:

­       Model Construction and Review

­       Cash Forecasts (monthly)

­       Projects

­       Quarterly/Annual - Profit/Loss projections

·        Maintains relationships with outside audit firm and tax lawyers.

·        Submits and monitors domestic salary survey administration, stock option programs.

·        Defines, manages and acts as custodian of administrative records (Houston office, offsite records, and data storage).

  • Monitors third party reserve report preparation and calculates after tax values.

 

Education and Experience:

·              Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.

·              CPA designation.

·              MBA is a plus.

·              Bilingual in Spanish or Russian.

·              Minimum of 20 years upstream oil and gas experience with prior international exposure.

Payroll Manager

To $75K + Bonus

           
Individual will manage payroll process, Direct the work of a group of administrative employees engaged in the processing of system wide bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls

Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws

Must maintain current on Ceridian Payroll system

Must facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures

Supervises all payroll processing and related activities, including training and evaluation of staff.

Interviews, selects and assigns staff.

Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies.

Initiates changes in work assignments or processing to improve efficiency.

Assists in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.

Supervises and reviews the preparation of all payroll statements and reports.

Audits work of all employees on an ongoing basis.

Performs other duties related to administrative responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Bachelors/Associates degree in a business related field and five to seven  (5 – 7 ) years of Payroll managing/processing or any appropriate combination of education and experience

Two to three (2-3) years experience supervising administrative staff.

Three to five (3-5) years experience with Ceridian Payroll system (Source 500 and/or Web based)  

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written; to work in a high stress environment and as part of team focused on customer service

Internal Auditor – Oil and Gas

To $70’s

           
Perform internal control, financial and operational audits

Create audit work products such as audit work papers, analyses and engagement documentation

Participate in meeting and assist in the preparation of the final audit work

Evaluate and test processes and related controls as they relate to Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance

Utilize technology and tools to continually learn and invocate

Assist with special projects as requested

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and FOCUS Assurance Software

Prior external/internal audit experience

Familiarity with COSO Framework

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business (Accounting or Finance) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Strong interpersonal skills and strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office

Candidate should exhibit self motivation, ability to accept additional responsibility, willingness to accept new challenges in a dynamic environment

Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines

Candidate will be responsible for multiple projects and should be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

CPA/CIA/CFE certification or candidate is preferred

Houston client is seeking several individuals with solid financial analysis skills.
Focus in the analytical side not the transactional side.
Areas of opportunity include: Cash Flow Analysis and Planning and Forecasting Analysis.

The group as a whole is responsible for external reporting, systems development, process improvement, financial analysis, and governance activities. Additionally, the group develops and delivers actual and forecast reporting to corporate
The team works directly with the CFO and President, regional Teams, regional support groups to deliver reports and meet objectives.
Individual must demonstrate an ability to work in a team based culture with emphasis on knowledge sharing and relationship management.
Must have understanding of consolidation systems and processes and display problem solving and analysis skills that will ensure credibility with other groups.
Must possess strong communication skills with all levels of management and have the ability to coordinate activities throughout various locations

Ideally prefer 5 + years of solid financial analysis and accounting experience along with an MBA. Will also consider candidates with a CPA.
Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Structuring Analyst / Sr. Risk Analyst
Salary: $65K -$85K + Bonus – depending on experience

Houston client seeking risk analyst with strong quantitative skills. This is not a risk control position, more than just entering data.
Candidates must understand the big picture.
Individual will identify, comprehend and capture the risk of all trades and structured deals into the risk books.
Mark to market valuation and position reporting for several books included in the regional risk portfolio.
Reconcile and quantify value and position changes of regional risk portfolio and communicate the results to Regional Risk Manager.
Work as a team with other risk analysts to consolidate three regional risk portfolios into one Corporate portfolio for approval by Vice President of Corporate Risk Management.
Develop improvements to automate, enhance and improve efficiency of existing risk books.
Reconcile monthly earning expectations with actual numbers from accounting.
Perform other projects.
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mathematics or economics.
At least 3 years of proven experience in commodity trading or risk management.
Strong quantitative and communication skills are required.
Proven track record of success in setting and accomplishing goals.
Must be very strong in EXCEL
